Maia and Keiran discover what a fossil is, how fossils get inside rocks and what fossils can tell us about living things.
Use this series of engaging videos with an accompanying workshop to discover rock types. Your class can watch videos that show real-world examples of sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rocks and fossils, plus learn how each rock type is formed.
In the video, the children visit the Heritage Coast Centre, where they watch an experiment to show rock formation with chocolate that your class could also try. Students can use the rock classification key to note rock names by type while watching the video to ensure engagement.
